The Spanish media predicted the prestigious Al Sadd in Qatar, the host country of the World Cup, as the new destination for soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo.

Spanish media Ars recently reported whether or not several teams were interested in Ronaldo under the title “Which team would you like to sign with Ronaldo as a free agent?”

Ronaldo caused a stir by releasing an interview video with British media just before the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The video contained an interview response criticizing Manchester United and manager Eric Turnhagh, the team at the time.

Ronaldo, who became a free agent, trained at Real Madrid’s sports center Valdebebas after the Portuguese national team was eliminated from the Qatar World Cup quarterfinal match against Morocco, and rumors circulated that he wanted to sign with Real Madrid.

“He now has to face a new reality,” Ars said. “Madrid offered him training facilities as a favor, but no Champions League team is interested in signing him,” he said.

Ronaldo also sought the possibility through agent Jorge Mendes to transfer to a club participating in the UEFA Champions League last summer.

Borussia Dortmund, Napoli and Chelsea showed interest in him, but the transfer never materialized. In particular, Chelsea is known to have wanted to sign Ronaldo, the owner of Tot Boli Chelsea, but then Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel refused and the transfer was canceled.

Ronaldo eventually stayed at Manchester United, but showed poor performances in the league and World Cup. Since then, an interview about Manchester United has caused controversy, putting it out of the interest of European teams.  스포츠토토

Ars emphasized that the only option left for Ronaldo was the Middle East. “In the current situation, there are only two options: Qatar and Saudi Arabia. Al Nasr of Saudi Arabia already offered 250 million euros (about 347.5 billion won) and seemed to be done, but Ronaldo turned it down during the World Cup.”

Of the two options, Saudi Arabia is also less likely.

On the 16th, Chairman Al Muammar Al-Nasr asked local reporters in Saudi Arabia, “Who is Ronaldo? I don’t know Ronaldo,” he responded to Ronaldo’s refusal.

Ars mentioned the possibility that another resource-rich country, Qatar, could be Ronaldo’s new destination.

The media said, “Qatari Al Sadd is interested in forming a team with players such as Santi Cazorla and Andre IU, and has presented him with a new offer.”

On the other hand, if Ronaldo is transferred to Al Sadd, he will eat rice with Korean national team midfielder Jung Woo-young.

With the rumor of Ronaldo transferring to Al Sadd, many Korean fans are also paying attention to whether Ronaldo will play in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League with Jung Woo-young.
